Among many things London is famous for its history, architecture, bridges.  These two photos were chosen among many.  The ones below, lesser known modern buildings on the Thames.

Today’s assignment intended for the “pop of color” to make photos more interesting.  It looks like the color is the subject in the photos I chose.  Hmmm.  Better work on that.

The weekend assignment for Photography 101 is to explore how light varies throughout the day.  Again, the sun is not cooperating with those of us who live in the mid-west.

Throw back to a earlier project:

Alphabet photography.  All the letters were found @ 1968 Rudgate Drive.  Read left to right.  Some take more imagination than others.  Yes, one was left out to fit the 5 X 5 collage format.  The photos were taken from North-South-East and West of the house at different times of the day.

Warmth from sunlight

13 Nov

There is no sunlight in Central Indiana today….cold with snow flurries.  Once again I look to my portfolio for today’s assignment to emphasize the sun as the light source.  This is one of my favorites for side lighting…

The last part of the assignment suggested breaking the rule of thirds….that is why I chose the Mission Beach image:  half surf and half sand.

Landmark

11 Nov

Naturally the subject of “landmark” on Veteran’s Day brings thoughts of national memorials on the mall in Washington D.C.  Rather than feature those memorials, I chose a couple of iconic statements that are embodied in those memorials.

"I have a dream" from the location the words were spoken.

“I have a dream” from the place the words were spoken at the Lincoln Memorial.

Connect: Veterans

10 Nov

Today’s photo assignment is “connect”.  I chose “connection” images with authority, friendship and music.
