From Houzz: “Futuro”
24 MayAwesome story! Not only a flash back to visions of our future, but also dedication to claim and restore that vision.
To add a personal story: Yes, I have had this figurine of ET (for Extra Terrestrial) since the early 80s….saving him for grins and to illustrate my blog 😉 He was the star of the 1982 Block Buster Movie by the same name. “Phone home” is the most memorable line of the script.
Friday Photo: I Ching No. 16 Enthusiasm
29 MayWhy is Mom so excited? It was May 2012. We got to board the plane for the second leg of our trip to London after weather caused the first leg to be diverted, unplanned overnight in wrong city and a flight crew that did not all show up. What’s in store for us? London gearing up for the Diamond Jubilee and a very special birthday tea at Kensington Palace Orangery. The first adventure was to see the crown jewels at the Tower of London.
Mom is also enthusiastic about formal weddings…fantastic! This is what she has selected to wear next month.
I appreciate Mom enthusiastic follower of this blog! She has read all 239 posts from the beginning in 2010.
Thank you Mom!…..and Happy Birthday! Best wishes for many more!
Fleeting moments
19 NovI did not think of these monkey sculptures at the Tower of London as particularly funny…until I saw my photo. OK, maybe you need to know my mom or had to be there 🙂
I thought I had them centered in my view finder. These women are moving.
A mustache on this lovely young woman reminds me of graffiti.
Fleeting moments are fun.
Winter Solstice
21 DecFor a non-traditional seasonal post, I decided to photograph souvenirs from this year’s travels for several reasons.
- Elfcroft loves fabrics.
- Neither of the trips were even dreams at this time last year. This is a reminder of surprises and possibilities of a new year….a British Jubilee and Bavarian Alps.
- The sunburst pattern was on the ceiling in the castle throne room. As a symbol, it is in contrast to the shortest day/longest night of the year. Perhaps, I should use it again for the summer solstice.
- Also, there is an expression that the sun never sets on the British Commonwealth.
(When the gift stores sell pillow covers without the insert, there are no worries with packing for the return flight 🙂 Love them!
