“Youthful Folly” is Wilhelm’s translation, which also includes “hopeless entanglement” in the text. I appreciate David Hinton’s translation of “thicket” as a concise visual. I found this thicket on my walk in the woods.

This week I stopped and hiked the trail! Happily! the weather was great and I had walking shoes on when I pulled into the visitor center. I have driven by over a 100 times over the years and NOT stopped. Great time to “STOP and hike the trail”.
