Treasure chest

24 Nov

My collection of pins had been in a dozen places gathering dust.  Today they are framed.  This is my personal “pin interest”.  My “treasure chest” is a memory jogger from decades of work, vacations, school, pets, hobbies, autos and awards.

Swarm

20 Nov

By definition, swarm does apply to people…though I keep thinking insects.

This is a challenging assignment.  When I think of times I have been in or near a swarm of people this year, I remember a high school graduating class of 593 and the Jr Pan Pacific Chinese swim team at a meet in August.  The only photo I took of the high school graduation was an aerial one from a seat in the safety of the bleachers.  At the swim meet prep…no camera!  the swiftness the team of 24 teens with coaches arriving at the pool and starting practice an hour early, before the pool cleared of the general public was stunning.

Thinking….thinking

My third thought is from IMTS or International Machine Tool Show held biennially in Chicago.  I like this photo because it captured the “swarm” and why they were there.

We were there to be competitive, moved, original, inventive, original, recognized and convinced.  Great event!

Fleeting moments

Mom, watch your back

Mom, watch your back!

I did not think of these monkey sculptures at the Tower of London as particularly funny…until I saw my photo.  OK, maybe you need to know my mom or had to be there 🙂

Row, row, row your boat

I thought I had them centered in my view finder.  These women are moving.

A mustache on this lovely young woman reminds me of graffiti.

Fleeting moments are fun.

Among many things London is famous for its history, architecture, bridges.  These two photos were chosen among many.  The ones below, lesser known modern buildings on the Thames.

Today’s assignment intended for the “pop of color” to make photos more interesting.  It looks like the color is the subject in the photos I chose.  Hmmm.  Better work on that.

ABC Collage

The weekend assignment for Photography 101 is to explore how light varies throughout the day.  Again, the sun is not cooperating with those of us who live in the mid-west.

Throw back to a earlier project:

Alphabet photography.  All the letters were found @ 1968 Rudgate Drive.  Read left to right.  Some take more imagination than others.  Yes, one was left out to fit the 5 X 5 collage format.  The photos were taken from North-South-East and West of the house at different times of the day.
